your wrap dress in white is gorgeous! I love white! And I also found your circle scarf -I’m fast… Can you tell me how much fabric you used for that? I’d like to make one because there is a wedding next week but the temperature here is 16C and I don’t have anything to match my turquise dress… SOS! Thanks!

Thanks!
The circle scarf only takes 1 yard / meter of knit / jersey fabric… I used rayon jersey – thin, drapey and soft. Have fun at the wedding and stay warm!

Hi, even though I live in Australia, we travel to SF every couple of years (last year was our last visit and we are planning the next for 2012). I went to Brittex fabrics whilst I was there and was blown away by the amount of fabric they have and how they have organised it all. Do you buy your fabric there or are the other places you can recommend I visit? We stay in and around union square and knob hill but travel all about as the local transport systems are easy to use.

Britex is my splurge place or where I go to get inpired. I also go to Stonemountain and Daughter in Berkeley and Piedmont Fabrics in Oakland, both across the bridge (closer to where I live). PF is the smallest of them but their products are well selected. SMD has all kinds of anything although not as extensive and expensive as Britex.
Do you know of any fine OZ stores that ships to the US?

I live in Perth which is on the west coast and the small variety we have on offer is from 2 major chain fabric stores – where you can grab a great find every now and then as well as a couple of boutique stores – but they can be pricey. I have heard a lot of people rave about Tessuiti Fabrics which is on the east coast in Sydney and Melbourne. One of the girls from the local sewing group here is going there in a few months – she has been saving like crazy so she can buy up big. I just checked out their website http://www.tessuti-shop.com/ and they do ship overseas for $15 australian $’s which is just over $10USD so no bad! The do have a note that they sell in 0.25mtr lots so you need to use a qty of 4 to equal 1mtr or just over 1yrd.

I’m sorry!!! I accidentally marked your reply as inappropriate thinking the symbol was a reply button! I’ll get in touch w/ BurdaStyle to fix it.
I’ve heard about Tessuti and I think I"ll check it out sometime.
