katexxxxxx commented on the forum topic Making a dress- How much fabric do i need?

Looks like silk tulle over a silk habotai lining.

Best thing is to draft out the pattern, make a toile, and plan a layout on the width of fabric you want to use. Measure your layout and that will…

Looks like a circular skirt with pleats sewn down at the waist.

katexxxxxx commented on the forum topic Burda Talea Coat - re-sizing advice

You might want to think about shortening the sleeves above and below the elbow too, especially if they are two part sleeves and curved. Make the lower slash above any seamed cuff detail.

katexxxxxx commented on the forum topic Burda Talea Coat - re-sizing advice

You need to take your shoulders and cup size into account as well… If you have broad shoulders and a B cup or smaller bra size, cut for the hip and waist size and do a small bust adjustment. If…

You are probably pulling the fabric down as you pin, or failing to allow the hem to ‘drop’ properly before pinning it.

katexxxxxx commented on the forum topic Are there any posts about tulle evening gown 12-2011?

Silk tulle squishes down into a TINY space: anything less wide is just going to look skimpy and inadequate.
