Cheap interfacing works well. It’s transparent, and can be stitched together as a makeshift toile if you want to check fit (doesn’t help with drape though).
josephina commented on the forum topic Can't find good fabrics!
Roselan, sadly you won’t find many nice, cheap fabrics in Australia. You can find some cheaper ones online at US and European stores (Emma One Sock, Britex, Elliot Berman) but postage prices gener…

Are you looking for supplex? It’s generally used for yoga wear and is stretchy, firm and wicks sweat. Try ebay – it’s the only place I’ve ever been able to find it online in Aus, and then only fro…

josephina commented on the forum topic Please help!
Have you considered adding a separate underskirt? Not sure if it would work, as it’s hard to see a lot of detail in the dress, but I’m just thinking that would be the simplest way. The tapered fr…

I am saving mine up at the moment to use in dog beds, which I guess is the same as using them to stuff an ottoman. They will go in there with any of our old clothes which are no longer wearable bu…

The dress looks fantastic. Did you have to make any alterations for a strapless version, or is the elastic insert at back enough to keep it up? I’m about to make a summer version of this one myself.

josephina commented on the forum topic Adding a fur collar and cuffs to an old winter jacket
You definitely need a leather needle – fur is not woven (unless it’s faux fur), so a normal needle will create a line of perforation along which the fur can tear.
