I’ve had a BSM subscription now for some time, and so I am quite used to the patterns. Mostly I don’t even bother following the instructions. Now, for the first time in a long time, I’m working o…

There always instances when scissors will be needed, but a rotary cutter can be useful. I mainly only use mine for cutting things like bias strips, for which it is quite useful. I think that the …

I think that MrsCharisma is referring to the pdf instructions that used to be publicly available for each pattern. I noticed that they seemed to have disappeared recently too, which is unfortunate…

jenss-1 commented on the forum topic Trouser/pant material

The directions say “lightweight trouser fabrics with some body.” That’s not very precise! Too lightweight would be a problem, but I think the key is to avoid heavy or bulky fabrics, like melton, …

That’s interesting – I hadn’t thought about the feed dogs. I have a number of feet, but I was particularly interested in lap seam/flat felling feet recently. Not critical, but maybe nice to have….

I’m not sure how a computerized machine is different than a manual, but depending on the brand of your machine, you might be able to get a buttonhole foot with measured markings on it. For example…
