Hi Jane My remark was not intended to be catty, just to point out that some plus size ladies are perfectly happy with their shape and feel they have nothing to hide: they will wear exactly the same clothes as slimmer women and are not embarrassed by any aspect of their shape – they enjoy it. For the others, “flattering” even when used by slim women is usually intended to mean, “makes me look slimmer”. They dislike their own shape and are dressing strategically to hide it or parts of it. if you look at the board you see that in the first few comments at least, each plus size lady thinks she is speaking for all. But that can’t be so. Plus size women are as varied in their wishes as anyone else. But I do so agree that the photos are ridiculous. The writer could have used photos from more recent shows where plus-size models have walked the catwalks more.
