Hey Goldilox, In response to your question about pricing garments: I would recommend figuring the cost of materials + your time + your fee. I used to make simple t-shirts & dresses from jersey fabrics in very little time to sell at fashion markets for like $30-$60. I was in college, making a small profit, and it was my first time selling clothes, so I was very happy with these numbers. Today, for my wholesale line, I have to factor in fabric costs, production costs and my business’s desired profit and mark-up from there. For custom pieces I begin with a flat fee. If I am making a pattern, sample & finished garment for someone we then come to a price together: based off of my fee, materials utilized, level of difficulty and their budget. Really, it is up to you. In the beginning I think it is important to cover the cost of materials and your time, and add a small profit to this number. Experience will then lead you in the right direction to make you more comfortable pricing. Good luck!
p.s. I apologize for the late response, I just found this message.
