Hi Andrew. What is your never ending project and will we see it soon? Is it going to be in one of your beautiful Indonesian fabrics? Sorry about all the questions. Hope you are well.

Hey Schnui how are you? well hahaha at the beginning of the year, i was plan to have a small collection to present, but then customer keep come and everytime i finished a piece of dress, someone will come and buy it, so i don’t have any collection till now. I wish to have a fashion show, but don’t hv the fund for that yet.
Btw why are you not going to sew for few weeks?

Hi Andrew, I can’t sew for a few more weeks as I am studying Nutrition at university and have too much work. I finish the semester on May 23rd, so I will be sewing away happily then. I have been buying too much fabric, so I really need to get sewing again. Good luck with your collection and don’t put yourself under too much stress.

Hi Andrew, how is the satin sewing getting along??? For me, sewing satin perfectly requires lots of basting or tacking. I don’t think there is any short cuts as satin moves around too much and it shows all seams quite vividly. Unlike cotton and especially the beautiful batiks that you use, which sew up so easily, satin requires you to be accurate. If I use satin, the pattern must be simple and elegant. Good luck.

Hi Schnui, havent sew it, yesterday a customer came and bring the satin fabrics to make a dress. Last time we sew the satin, i got pucker on it, a friend of mine told that it is also depend on the thread tension. So before i sew the satin i better ask for some suggestion. Thanks for your advice

Andrew, also try a fine needle in the machine like a microtex needle (60/8). I have just finished sewing up the most beautiful piece of very fine silk organza from Italy which was a nightmare to sew. I used a microtex needle and still got a little bit of puckering but I spent the extra time basting every seam. The top has turned out so well and I am very proud of it, but I won’t be in a hurry to spend so much money on a fabric that gives me so much drama!!

I am travelling to New Zealand this morning and have the silk top with me, so hopefully I can get my friends to take a photo with beautiful mountain scenery in the background of me wearing it. i hope you are able to get the sewing needles but if you can’t I would be happy to send you a pack. But I am sure you will be able to. The brand is Schmetz.
