Hey Flutefish, I understand about making clothes that don’t fit. I found a great idea that I’m going to try soon. You take a piece of clothing that already doesn’t fit, put it on inside-out and try to pin better seams in all the right places. Obviously, the clothing piece needs extra room. Also, if you have a tummy (like me) don’t go with french darts. Do the darts that go from the bottom of the shirt to the bust. They make more flattering lines.
