Hi – sorry to bother you, but on June 25, 2007, you added a project called yellow striped top. Did you design this or do you have a pattern for it? Thanks.

Hi!
I did not have a pattern for it, but it is fairly simple.
Measure around your body, above the bust. Take that length x 10cm and cut a strap. Sew the short ends together, right sides facing. Fold the strip in half, wrong sides facing, and iron.
Now cut a rectangle. To get the “ruffle effect”, you need to cut the rectangle wider than the bust strap. Cut the rectangle as long as you want the top to be, measuring from right above the bust and down, and add about 7 cm for the hem and seem allowance.
Sew the sides of the rectangle together, rights sides facing. Ruffle one long side to fit the bust strap. Sew the ruffled edge together with the bust strap. Fold the fabric over twice at the hem, iron and sew.
Make shoulder straps. Measure from the front of the bust strap over your shoulder ti the back. Cut four strips of fabric with your over-the-shoulder measure x 6 cm. Put two and two together, rights ides facing and sew the long sides together. On one of the short ends you sew round corners. Turn the straps inside out. Sew a decorating seen about 0,5 cm from the edge. Attach the shoulder strap at the back on the inside of the bust strap by sewing decorating seems 0,5 cm along the edge of the bust strap.
On the front; place the rounded shoulder strap ends where you want them and fasten them with buttons.
Roughly explained. Ask more if you’d like me to be more specific.
