Hi Fantzy! I’d LOVE a treadle machine- I had one years ago and I kick myself for giving it to the thrift store! You’re right they are very eco-friendly- ZERO emissions! Happy sewing, EmilyKate

Hi, Nice to hear from you. I am actually in Melbourne (so much nicer than Sydney HaHa) and so far the weather has been mild but still no rain – the reservoirs are at 26% and it’s very worrying! We may need all members to start sending bottled water!!!! Hopefully we’ll have some rain soon otherwise it’ll be me moving to Sydney! Happy sewing, Hilary

Thank you for your comment on the Decor Purse. Unfortunally, I do not have a pattern for it. My daughter came up with the idea, then enslaved me to do it! ( just kidding) I used a swatch that was about 17in x 12 1/2in and cut that in half. I sewed the sides together. Folded in about 2 in at the top. And i can not explain how i did the gather, because i did have a hard time there. It has a zipper for closure and lining. The straps are too from a swatch of the same size. I cut two, 2 in wide strips( along the longest side). After stitching the each strip and turning them inside out. I stitched one end of both strips along side. Then i twisted the straps until the desired effect and then stitched the other ends to stay in place. The base is an oval shape, contrasting color (same as the straps) I did a few pleats on the bottom of the decor fabric to give it the puff effect….. I hope I have given you good enough infomation. I’ve added a few more pics with angles. If you have any more questions, feel free!…. Nice purses!

hello and thanks for your interest in my hats! I never posted them on here because I thought this site was more for sewing … thought I might be told off if I do …
Keep on making those wonderful bags … very inspirational

Hi, Thanks for visiting my wall again! I can’t wait to see the jacket and matching bag. I love your new spring bags. My new favorite is the one you made for your daughter. I am really low on fabric so I have been doing mostly repairs and adding cell phone pockets to skirts and tunics that need them. My husband hates it when he can’t reach me so cell phone pockets are a must. I am waiting for yard sale season to start to get more fabric and then I will be sew crazy again!

Hi and thanks for your comment on my Estelle bag. It actually looks much nicer than the picture shows as it is a silky type fabric in a rich colour but you get the general idea. I found the pattern rather tricky also so I just played it by ear and was quite pleased with the end result. I’m sure you’d have no trouble with it as your bags look so detailed! Thanks again, Hilary

Hey, thank you very much for your really nice comment on my Gray Totebag!! I like to hear peoples opinion :) Actually, I don’t dare to sew clothes I did try it a long time ago, but it didn’t turned out very well :( And somehow I’m obsessed by bags. Your purses are all wonderful. I did notice the pretty flowers on my favorite purse of your! You are very talented. I make clothes for myself, my friends, my friends daughters and I think I do o.k. I tried t make a purse and it was laughable. It is much harder to make purses than it is to make my style of clothes. With the economy the way it is I can’t afford to buy the purse of my dreams so I will continue to try to make one out of scraps or my sons old jeans. I am looking forward to seeing more of your purses. They/you are inspiring.
