hi! I am making the Danielle dress in a costume class and I loved the way you put yours together! I just wanted to ask you about the ribbon at the waist line… did you still cut out the waistband from the fabric as the pattern has, or did you just replace that piece all together with the ribbon? Thanks, I love the dress and it inspired me to make one!!!

Thanks for the compliment :)
For my Danielle dress I just replaced the waist inset with the ribbon, so perhaps it doesn’t really fall as it’s supposed to, however, it’s not something I notice. The trickiest part was that the ribbon was so thin that I couldn’t use a lot of seam allowance on it, so I had to be careful not making gaps between the main pieces and the ribbon.
Hope this helps you, otherwise feel free to ask again and I will try to explain further.

Hi escorpio! So you are in Lund. I went to Novalund yesterday.:) I live in Arlöv. I found some shops in Lund and Malmö. But I buy fabrics more online lately because I can buy some cheaper. I checked your blog out. I like all your creations!

Hey, don’t just throw out your “i’ll never use this fabrics” before you move. Put them up for swap on the flicker up for swap pool. You never know, you may end up swapping for something you may use! http://www.flickr.com/groups/upforswap/pool/

Hi. Thank you for your nice comment on My first Danielle. Actually I was not so sure with the fabric’s combo. My second Danielle will look much different than the first one.

thanks! that actually helps a lot! I’m sorry, I just accidentally marked that reply as “inappropriate”! I don’t know how I did that… i guess my hand just spazzed out! I hope it isn’t too big a deal or anything! :) Thanks for the tips!
