Hi Erdronen, I’ve just joined Burda Style, and was thrilled to find your wrap dress pattern – I’ve seriously been looking for one like this EVERYWHERE! I am a very beginner sewer, but excited to learn. I would LOVE to make the dress you posted, except that I’m a very different size – 16. Can you advise me how to adjust the pattern for my size?
Kindest thanks, Meg

Thanks, I’m planniong on making some more as soon as I can get my hands on some decent jersey, turns out the cheap stuff I bought at Wal-Mart was see through and everyone saw my bright blue undies the day I wore my wrap dress :( but other than that it looked fantastic! Thanks for the pattern!!!

Hey there thanks for the comment on my Black Wrap….and thanks again for the pattern….I wear that dress a lot which says everything…shame I didnt go for great fabric out the gate though as long as no one gets too tactile I can keep the fabric quality (or lack there of) a secret :)

Hey Liz, I love your blous wich you made from the manequin-pattern and so I took a look to the website. But I don´t speek portuguese or even spanish at all… So I wonder if you could tell me, were I find the size of the various patterns and if for example a 38 the same 38 as in USA/EU? And one more question I have: Do the patterns include seam allowence? Now I asked you so many questions, but don´t worry, if you have no answer. Then I will try it out… ;O) Thanks a million!!!

I was able to find the size chart at one point and my size was the same as burda sizes. So, I think you can go by that. The patterns do not include seam allowances, so you’ll have to add them! The fit is very snug, so you may want to consider a size up from normal depending on your shape. For me, even when I’m making my size I usually have to take them in a bit, but not this one, so just keep that in mind. Good luck! I can’t wait to see your version!

Hello Liz, thank you very much for your comment on my big jacket. I don’t think you are going to have any problem with sewing a tailored collar. I’m quite sure you are skilled much more than that. …I’m not sure about your BWOF instruction though…( I can imagine that it’s sometime much better to have nothing than to have bad references.) Having said that, it was just a piece of collar, attached to lapel directly. Nothing complicated. Good luck to you!! -yoshimi

hello! just found your comments, thanks so much :-) yeah had a bit of a sewing spurt before i went on holiday but they were all pretty quick, cheap and cheerful jersey ones…think i may actually have to learn something this autumn and try sleeves/shirt/jacket instead of staying safe lol Your things are amazing these days you really have become a pro!

Interesting! I’ve photographed my toile, I’ll post the pictures when I post the project (hope it’s at least nearly as nice as yours!). Not sure if I’m going to make a new one in size 34 or if I’ll just take it in a bit (quite a lot). I do like quite fitted clothes, but your is just the way I like it so it’s a mystery…

I am so glad you like it, thank you so very much for the wonderful tutorial, you did such a great job with all the photographs, it was so well written which made it also so easy to modify. Hi, thank you for your comment on my balloon skirt! I agree with you about the pleats and bubble hem, the combination is lovely. At least, it is much much better than (gather+bubble), that’s what I noticed this time!

I printed out your hope wrap dress today and I’m wondering what size is 34? how do I know if I’m a 34 (I’m new at this tee hee) and do I need to add a seam allowance?

The size chart is here: http://www.burdastyle.com/statics/size-chart
I don’t believe you need to add seam allowances, but double-check the instructions. If they don’t say to do so, then they’re already included.
Good luck! I can’t wait to see the result!
