  Hi Elisana- I hope this email finds you well. I’m so sorry i haven’t been in touch and I totally forgot when your due date was!! The rest of my summer was really busy and back to work in September and all church clubs started again. Have you been doing much sewing? I haven’t been doing much lately just some hemming for friends and very small projects. I am trying to organize my sewing area so that I can be more productive. oh by the way- I finally bought a dress form!- got it from Joannes.com. I do have that skirt that I made still waiting to be hemmed (lol) but now it’s on the dress form instead of thrown over my treadmill (LOL). Hope to hear from you soon and we are able to get together one day/night even just for coffee or just to meet and catch up. Have you heard from Sarah? talk to you soon. Linda

    good timing! my due date is today :) wish i had been sewing as much as i have been planning to. it’s uncomfortable at this point.
    congrats on the dress form! your talk about the skirt reminded me of a kasia i started 2 falls ago… and still needs hemming…. if we don’t ever get on the same group to sew again, we should start a new club – procrastination R us…
    let’s def get together again, but I’m thinking late spring would work best for me, as I’ll have my hands and arms full very soon.

  Hi, so Happy to hear from you and also congratulations!!!!!!!!! How are you feeling?? You must be so excited!! Don’t feel bad about not meeting. It’s so hard in the summer. Yes I’ve been away a lot. the Bahamas then Minneapolis. and this weekend am going to CT for a leadership retreat with my church. and my friend Chris signed us up for Kayaking !! lol. haven’t really been sewing a lot- made one skirt that’s waiting to be hemmed. but that’s about it for now. I would love to get together! Starting in Sept – I will not be free on Monday or Tuesday nights but any other night is usually good. Hope to see you soon. Take care. Linda<><

  Hmmm – I just might be able to make it! I will definitely try. Monday nights are good for me in the summer- during the winter I run a girls group at my church. I am so glad I found this site It has inspired me to start sewing again. Everyone is so talented!!! I’ve been away from it for a long while except for some costume alterations and some bags once in a while. I will try to post some more pictures of some of my past work .   HI- I live on Long Island and was interested in maybe joining a sewing club in the area. I just got back into sewing again and found this site. so cool. Would love some more info on your sewing club. How many members do you have already and how often do you meet or is it just an online club. ok well hope to hear from you soon.

    Great to hear from you!
    we meet whenever possible. The next meeting will be on Monday, 6/28 @7:30pm, at the Long Beach Public Library. It’ll be great if you can make it.
    We have 3 active members, myself included.
    Hope to meet you in person sometime soon.

  i thought if you gently stretched the fabric, it would give the stitch enough elasticity……hmm, i’ll have to play with it a little…… it still turned out very nice!

    it turned out great! maybe because it wasn’t cotton? she said she stretched a lot. my only experience is with cotton jersey, and when I stretched, it got all wavy, when I didn’t stretch, the seam was too tight, so the zigzag was the only answer I found. i have some stretch “something”… maybe polyester?, that I’m going use to make the wrap cardigan, so I’ll see how that works, how different it is from cotton…

    I’m thinking a space that would accomodate about 10 people would do. 3 people showed interest so far, besides me and you. I haven’t advertised the club yet, so I think it would be good to leave some space in case more people are interested.

  Hi Elisana, I would like to join your sewing club. I am not that great at sewing yet. I like to hand sew felt projects and have made curtains and blankets out of regular material with a sweing machine. That’s all i have done so far. I did go to a recent Burdastyle event in Brooklyn and sewed a tote bag.

    That’s great Rebecca! I’m no expert either, I learn with each project – it seems to me we have similar interests, I’ve also made curtains adn baby shoes and am about to make a few bags :)
    I’m starting to organize the club. We haven’t had any meetings yet, I’m trying to find a location, we might be able to use a room at the Long Beach Public Library, but I won’t know until mid-december. I’d like to have our first meeting before that, so I’m trying to find other options – let me know if you have suggestions.
