  LOL Wouldn’t be so bad to be a creative soul if I didn’t have to work full time too! ;) We have the same issues there.

  I usually just list my garments and they can pick from available fabrics until I get caught up. Then I make something new and start over! The problem is I’m not getting caught up! Wait…is that a problem??? Hmmm..We REALLY need elves! I’ve got three orders on the white robe in my Etsy shop, so those have to be completed before I can make one out of velvet to re-list.

  So I only feel like I’m half production and half creating. A decent balance for me.

  If I didn’t have high speed internet, I would be crazy! You have my sympathy. LOL

  I’ve struggled with the same Esty/made to order issue ever since I opened my store! Hard to do with one of a kind pieces. Plus a full time job! I prowl around other seller stores and see how they handle it. I’ve sold my latest robe and have an order for another one, so now the shop is empty! So do I ignore the orders and make something for the shop? Or relist the item as a sample garment for orders? Profit versus the creative fun? Which puts me right back at square one…sigh….there….did that help???? :)

  I prefer to just create a piece and let it find a home with someone who loves it! Obviously I lean more towards the creative part and not the business part! LOL

    Well, I ended up just making a meditation pillow filled with buckwheat hulls, but I will be doing some dyeing this next weekend for a new dress though. I will post images as soon as I can!
