    Re mismatch on plaid dress (sorry, site crashes multiple times whenever I try to reply on a comment page): I once spent several months on a long crochet cardigan with a wavy stripe pattern. After I’d carefully measured up for and sewn on all the ten(!) buttons to match the buttonholes down the front, I noticed that the stripes didn’t actually match up any more when I did the cardigan up!

    I’ve been meaning to adjust the positioning of those buttons for a year or two, but somehow I just don’t think it’s going to happen….

      I can relate, it’s tough to go back and fix those errors… often I just want the instant gradification of just finishing a project ;-). If you look at the project (plaid & ruffles) in my studio you’ll see the plaid is matched perfectly. I did not try at all to match any of the plaid on that top, not sure how it turned out so perfect….go figure!
