Hi, I didn’t sew for so long partly because I had no time for anything for years!! But now that my kids are a little older I’m finding that I have (and NEED!!) a bit more time for myself. I have a terrible habit of needing to finish my projects off in one sitting…if I can’t then they end up sitting around collecting dust! At the moment I have 5 half finished dresses and two half finished jackets, and it’s completly doing my head in.. I have the house to myself for a couple of hours and should probably go and do some sewing right now!!

Hi Calicokate, yes it is in Australia — it’s a tiny island called Portaboy (not sure it that’s how to spell it), just off Dunk Island in North Queensland. In fact the photo was taken from Dunk Island, when my family and my sister’s family had a short stay there about two summers ago. It was one of the most memorable little getaways we’ve had as a family. Yes, Queensland is a fabulous place to live in. We love it, and although I have so many more places I’d love to visit in the world, I would probably always want to live here. Did you manage to travel up North? There is so much to see in the tropics, though the South-East has a lot to offer as well. We would love to visit Canada one day.
