    Hi Burda Support,

I added a technique to my toolkit, but my toolkit doesn’t exist. Looking around in my profile, it seems that these techniques should appear in my studio? All I have there are the projects I added myself. Can you please help? Looks like a software bug…Possibly the toolbox has changed path and/or name, and it wasn’t updated in the add to toolkit button, that is, it still sends to the old non-existing address or something like that and there’s no error checking mechanism for it…

    Thanks, Maria

Hi, when I put up a project " based on " a Burda pattern, I tick this box and put in the relevant pattern date, name and number, but I get a error saying I need to add it. Am I doing something wrong? Thanks for your time.

I am new to sewing, and I was hoping to learn to sew using the patterns from Burdastyle. So I purchased the July package and started with the easy one – the blue summer blouse – but as it turns out, the instructions on the patterns are so difficult to understand and follow that I’ve had to rip open the piece so may times and its still not complete. I won’t give up, but you should really try to make the sewing instructions easier and simpler to follow – of perhaps offer a sewing video or tips on how beginners can make the most of the patterns and learn effective sewing at the same time. A picture tutorial would also help you know. Please try to support beginners who don’t really understand all of the sewing lingo. Thank you.

We do offer many instructional videos and tutorials. Click HOW-TO in the menu bar above to navigate to that section.

Also, our Discussions Forum (http://www.burdastyle.com/discussions) is a great place to look for help. Our members have a huge, collective knowledge of all things sewing-related, and chances are if you have questions or trouble, someone else might too. Search through past forum posts, or post a new one. You may find just the answer you need, and help others in the process.

Finally, if you have a specific question about one of our digital patterns that you can’t get help with by using the above suggestions, you can email your inquiry to answers@burdastyle.com.

      I hope that helps!

I bought pattern Designer Cascade Dress 05/2011 #157 online. It says it is size 8,10,12,14,16 so that is 5 sizes. The pattern has 6 lines, so 6 sizes. Would that mean size 18 is included?

I was checking out and entered all information for one of the sew alongs and got an “invalid csrf code” message so could not make the purchase. Because it didn’t work on my phone I then tried to purchase on PC but there is a price difference of $3 less when trying to purchase on my phone. Could not find the same $16.99 offer on PC or iPad. I was going to enroll in one of your other courses but This makes me not want to purchase anything from BurdaStyle. 1. Why was it giving me that message and 2. But most importantly Why do you offer different retails??

I would like a refund for the following purchases: - Basic Bodice and Sleeve Sloper - Basic Skirt Sloper - Basic Pant Sloper - Basic Fitted Dress Sloper - Basic Shift Dress Sloper

on July 23, 2015, for a total amount of $29.95.

The reason I am requesting the refund is because I expected the instructions/slopers to contain information for custom fitting to my specific measurements. Instead I plan to take the “Draft Your Own Personal 5 Piece Sloper Collection” course.

Please let me know how to proceed.

    Thanks for your time.

I’m feeling extreamly discouraged from logging onto Burda Style with these new pop-up advertsements, that take up the entire bottom of my screen and will continue to open an entirely new page when I’m trying to purchase a pattern. I love Burda Style and I try to buy as many online patterns as I can afford, but I’m not likely to contunie if these advertsements contiune. Burda Style is not a free resource, we pay for our use. Why do you subject your customers to this?

We do not have a list of local (to you) bookstores that carry our magazines. Most stores order from a distributor and we do not have access to any other company’s customer list (your local stores).
You can also purchase the print magazine from via the Interweave online store:

I would like to introduce myself, I am Claire Cochran, the creator of the SA Curve rulers. I have completely redesigned my measuring wheel for the sewing community and have put it on Kickstarter and called it the Curve Runner. I am looking to get the word out to as many interested people as possible. Here is the Kickstarter Link:

I was wondering if I could put the information about the Kickstarter campaign on your projects page.

I would be eternally grateful if that is OK. The campaign just has 3 weeks left.

    Thanks! Claire

After posting several projects, I’ve found that I can’t type a title of the project into the “based on” blank, which is a required field. I can only click on a project name that has already been entered and is in the list that comes up. So I’ve been picking the project name that is closest to mine. But that brings up the issue or project in the sidebar, and sometimes although it is close, it’s not the same project. One time I lucked out, and someone had already posted the same project so I was able to choose it from the list. Is this just a bug that might be in my browser (Safari)? Because obviously some people have been able to type in project names, otherwise there wouldn’t be any in the list.

Hi, I have read through the pattern FAQs, what do you do when you print the pattern and your pattern test square is 9.5cm by 9.5cm? Do you have to resize the image some how? The instructions just say make sure it’s 10 by 10 cm and don’t actually offer any suggestions as to what to do when it doesn’t print right.

    Thank-you :)

Each “Print at Home” pattern comes in sets of standard 8 1/2 × 11 or A4 sheets of paper. Please print each sheet AS IS – do not crop or enlarge the pages. You are provided with a guide that shows you how each pattern must be assembled. For more information on printing and assembling patterns at home, please go to http://www.burdastyle.com/faq/patterns#faq_13. Please note that some print options require you to select “Fit.” We recommend you find your test square and print this page first for accuracy. Your test square should measure 10cmX10cm.

If you are experiencing problems downloading or printing your pattern, the following information should help you.

      - Check to make sure you have the latest version of Adobe Reader. Visit http://get.adobe.com/reader/ for download information.
      - Click “Save As” instead of “Open” when downloading.
