I am working on High Neck Blouse 05/2013 #106. In the instructions it says to “Trim away the seam allowance on the neck edge” I find this a little vague am I trimming the whole 5/8" seam allowance from the whole neckline or just a certain section? Any further clarification would be great.

Hi, I’m very upset. I didn’t realize that all of the patterns would be PDFs. I’ve ordered several…have a short time to sew… and can’t figure out how to upload or download the actual patterns through my printer. I hope that someone can assist me. Thank you, Pam/devildog

    Hi there

I have a bit of an issue with my downloaded pattern. The test square measures 11 cm and not 10. How do I correct this?

    Kind regards Linda

The checkout form does not appear to work for non-US addresses. Specifically, the “State” field is required, but only contains US States. Selecting no state fails the form validation; selecting a (necessarily incorrect) state fails the form validation.

This is likely the same issue that Carrira & AnninaNicole are reporting.

I bought a shorts pattern and the downloaded pattern is 41 pages and includes a shirt and long pants (but no direction for them) which I didn’t order. Is there a way to just print out the 8 or so pages I need for the shorts? It’s hard to tell which page goes to which part of the pattern.

    Thanks. :)

I’ve had the same problem as Carrira – live in Belgium and haven’t been able to purchase patterns. Also I’ve seen some lovely dresses here from a Burda 2009 issue, but I can’t seem to find 2009 patterns on Burdastyle anymore, is that correct? Are they still for sale somewhere?

Our webinars are currently hosted on a different shopping cart than our patterns, so you actually have to create a new account here: http://register.burdastyle.com/Registration. After which you can register for the webinar.

I apologize for the inconvenience. We are working on being able to sell our webinars thru our shop on BurdaStyle.com.

All registrants (regardless if they attend the webinar live) will receive a “Thank You” email the following Monday with a recording of the event, the Q&A transcript, and any additional downloads/resources referenced during the event. You will also have the opportunity to email the presenter any follow-up questions you might have after watching the recording.

    PLEASE HELP!!!

I purchased the “Tulle Evening Gown 12/2011” pattern and am STUMPED by the instructions in step #6. I don’t know why I can’t figure it out, but I really just can’t seem to make sense of the step. I MUST finish the dress by Thursday May 30, 2013 as we are leaving town on Friday for a MAJOR function on Sunday.

I understand pressing under the seam allowance, do I only make slit marks on the right side of the tulle? The tapering of the pressed-under edge toward the seam allowance??? Am I supposed to open that back out? Won’t the raw edges show between the tulle and the right side of the gown? What about the bottom edge of the band? Does it go unfinished??? When you baste the band to the neck edge, are you basting the pressed under seam allowance edge or the raw edges together? I am sorry I am sooo confused, but I’m desperate and need help!! Thanks!

hi there, is it possible to position the pictures you upload for your projects? i have uploaded some (just started publishing my projects and liking it a lot), but the automatic positioning is not very inviting. i have not found a way to manually force it to position the picture differently. do you have any suggestions, please? thanks! P.S. I mean the first picture people get to see, the one that shows up on the “projects” page.

My sample tile square came out fine, but as I tile the printed pattern pages together some are not fitting well together. This is my first downloaded pattern. Any suggestions? The first two rows fit well together and to each other. I’m having trouble getting the third row to match up with the second.

Hi, I was once one of the youngest Burda fans. At the age of 13 I would sew my own dresses, skirts etc. until around the mid ‘90s when the models per magazines weren’t as many and the patterns weren’t as accurate. After sometime I lost interest in wasting fabric over imperfect patterns.

So Many years later and I’m missing it again! And I still prefer the old designs and not sure if I can find them through your site. I’m hesitate to try the newer patterns and I’m hopeful you can encourage me through locating the Burda Pattern to one of my favorite dresses which I made at the age of 16!

Look forward to hearing from you.

Help! I purchased pattern 7261 to make my daughter’s senior prom dress, based on the measurements in the size chart you provide here on your website. Bought the material as well. When I opened the pattern and cut the pieces to fit her (I always fit the pattern to the person before i cut), something was not right. The size chart printed on the pattern flimsy is completely different from the one on your site — by at least TWO SIZES. I based my purchase on the online chart, size 22 measurements, for example, hip measurement is 50 1/2 inches. The one on the pattern flimsy for size 22 is a 45 1/2 inch hip!! Now I have $60 of material and a daughter in tears. I am not able to modify the pattern to this extent. What am I supposed to do now? Please help! thank you Frantic Mom….

I recently printed out the Pencil Skirt Pattern #117A as instructed (the 10cm square was the size it should have been). I also assembled the pattern as instructed and cut out the relevant size that fit my measurements. I realised however that the size that was supposed to match my measurements was actually 2cm too big and if I were to add seam allowances (as instructed by the pattern), I would have ended up with a skirt 10cm bigger than my size around the hips! What has gone wrong? Please advise as I am now hesitant to use Burda patterns both from the magazine and printing my own in case I have the same thing happen again but with more complicated patterns. Thanks.

I just purchased five patterns, and three will not downoad or print. This is very frustrating, as I have never had this issue with your free patterns! I have no issues with other pdfs of every size, and all of the settings on my computer are correct. How do I get them to load from your site??

FYI to all, These patterns will not open with any current version of Reader. I had to uninstall 11 and reinstall 9 to get them to download. Weird they would even post 2013 patterns that wont open with current software… Sad and disappointed that I never heard back from Burda on this issue!

I sooooo wish I could say your tips helped…. I have a MAC and have tried printing via Preview, Firefox and Adobe. I’ve tried ‘fit entire page’, ‘100%’, and stuffed around with 98%, 98.5% to bump it down slightly but no hoorah. What do I do now?

      Hi prissypuss,

Any luck? It should be able to print at Actual Size, Fit or 100% depending on your system’s setup.

Please email Answers@BurdaStyle with the following:
      Name of the pattern
      Browser
Version of Adobe Reader (can not be Acrobat)
and a screenshot of your print settings

Someone will be able to assist you with just a little more information. We hope to get this sorted out as soon as possible.
