My sample tile square came out fine, but as I tile the printed pattern pages together some are not fitting well together. This is my first downloaded pattern. Any suggestions? The first two rows fit well together and to each other. I’m having trouble getting the third row to match up with the second.

Hi, I was once one of the youngest Burda fans. At the age of 13 I would sew my own dresses, skirts etc. until around the mid ‘90s when the models per magazines weren’t as many and the patterns weren’t as accurate. After sometime I lost interest in wasting fabric over imperfect patterns.
So Many years later and I’m missing it again! And I still prefer the old designs and not sure if I can find them through your site. I’m hesitate to try the newer patterns and I’m hopeful you can encourage me through locating the Burda Pattern to one of my favorite dresses which I made at the age of 16!
Look forward to hearing from you.

Help! I purchased pattern 7261 to make my daughter’s senior prom dress, based on the measurements in the size chart you provide here on your website. Bought the material as well. When I opened the pattern and cut the pieces to fit her (I always fit the pattern to the person before i cut), something was not right. The size chart printed on the pattern flimsy is completely different from the one on your site — by at least TWO SIZES. I based my purchase on the online chart, size 22 measurements, for example, hip measurement is 50 1/2 inches. The one on the pattern flimsy for size 22 is a 45 1/2 inch hip!! Now I have $60 of material and a daughter in tears. I am not able to modify the pattern to this extent. What am I supposed to do now? Please help! thank you Frantic Mom….

I recently printed out the Pencil Skirt Pattern #117A as instructed (the 10cm square was the size it should have been). I also assembled the pattern as instructed and cut out the relevant size that fit my measurements. I realised however that the size that was supposed to match my measurements was actually 2cm too big and if I were to add seam allowances (as instructed by the pattern), I would have ended up with a skirt 10cm bigger than my size around the hips! What has gone wrong? Please advise as I am now hesitant to use Burda patterns both from the magazine and printing my own in case I have the same thing happen again but with more complicated patterns. Thanks.

I just purchased five patterns, and three will not downoad or print. This is very frustrating, as I have never had this issue with your free patterns! I have no issues with other pdfs of every size, and all of the settings on my computer are correct. How do I get them to load from your site??
Apr 30, 2013, 01.30 AMby surfergirlham
FYI to all, These patterns will not open with any current version of Reader. I had to uninstall 11 and reinstall 9 to get them to download. Weird they would even post 2013 patterns that wont open with current software… Sad and disappointed that I never heard back from Burda on this issue!

I sooooo wish I could say your tips helped…. I have a MAC and have tried printing via Preview, Firefox and Adobe. I’ve tried ‘fit entire page’, ‘100%’, and stuffed around with 98%, 98.5% to bump it down slightly but no hoorah. What do I do now?
Apr 26, 2013, 05.37 PMby BurdaStyle Support
Hi prissypuss,
Any luck? It should be able to print at Actual Size, Fit or 100% depending on your system’s setup.
Please email Answers@BurdaStyle with the following:
Name of the pattern
Browser
Version of Adobe Reader (can not be Acrobat)
and a screenshot of your print settings
Someone will be able to assist you with just a little more information. We hope to get this sorted out as soon as possible.

Hi!
Same issue… I can’t print the Wrapped Blouse pattern (http://www.burdastyle.com/pattern_store/patterns/wrapped-blouse-042013). The 10cm are 11.2 cm or 9.5… I tried every settings (fit, actual, 100%).
What can I do?
Thanks!

Hi Lutin1981,
Please check your email, I have sent you a few screenshots of my process and additional questions for you.
Hope to get this sorted out shortly.

I’ve purchased a pattern and when printing the ‘test square’, at actual size (100%), it doesn’t quite measure 10cm square. It’s 10.3mm on each side? I wondered if this is correct? The pattern is – Modell 151 Burda Style 9/2012
I was also thinking it would be an option to trace off the computer screen but again, the test square at ‘actual size’ doesn’t measure up at 10cm… 10.3mm.
Really hope this can be clarified soon as I’m gagging to make the dress! Thanks a bunch.

I find it most accurate to select “fit” when printing from Adobe Reader, Firefox, & my Mac.
Let me know if that helps.

I am having trouble getting test square to 4inches..I have tried “actual”..I have tried “100%” and neither have worked….if I do landscape…the box is 4inches but the pattern page is incomplete and not continued on next page…I am trying to download corset dress 107

I think 100% works well but only if you are printing from Preview – not Adobe Reader.
Actual size used to be the go to but with system updates, this doesn’t seem to be a commonly accurate setting.
We apologize for the confusion.
Let me know if “fit”.

I’m trying to order a pattern & it cannot be processed because of a security violation on my account? I just created an account this week?!
Apr 18, 2013, 06.17 PMby BurdaStyle Support
Hi Regina,
I apologize for this frustrating experience. What is the exact error message you are receiving and at what point in the checkout process is it appearing?
Have you contacted your card issuing bank for details, specifying your attempted use on BurdaStyle.com?
I look forward to sorting this out with a little more information.

Can’t find size on my printed out pattern. Don’t know which line to cut for a size. HELP
Apr 18, 2013, 06.20 PMby BurdaStyle Support
Hi Brendiareeves,
Please find all pattern sizes listed on their pattern detail page, to the right of the main image.
If the sizes are not listed within the instructions, feel free to shoot us the name of the pattern and we will update the instructions into our new template for you.
The smallest size will be the innermost pattern line and moving outward, each pattern line will increase one size.
I hope this helps!

Where can i find Burda open source sewing patterns ?
Apr 15, 2013, 01.28 AMby BurdaStyle Support
Good question! They are a little tricky to find at the moment, to be honest. The patterns on our website that are considered open source are the patterns by BurdaStyle, Inc and these were all published prior to the patterns by burda style magazine (2010 and prior). When you are in the pattern store filter “All” and then click to the very last page of patterns. If you browse the the Pattern Store backward you find all of the open source patterns. The patterns by BurdaStyle, Inc were most often named with a human/pet name (Carol, Anda, David, etc) and do not have an issue date associated with them.
We are hoping to have a BurdaStyle, Inc filter available soon.

Is it possible to change my user name, the one that everyone sees?

Yes! You can either switch it to show your first and last name within your member profile or you can contact me directly with your top 3 choices and I’ll update your account. :)

hi there, is it possible to position the pictures you upload for your projects? i have uploaded some (just started publishing my projects and liking it a lot), but the automatic positioning is not very inviting. i have not found a way to manually force it to position the picture differently. do you have any suggestions, please? thanks! P.S. I mean the first picture people get to see, the one that shows up on the “projects” page.
