Wow that’s a cool deal. I know what you mean about taking 6 months to get the hang of it..I bought a new overlocker/serger in December and only just used it for a rolled hem two days ago!! It does so many things I don’t know if I’ll ever get the time to learn it all!! I grew up using my Mums industrial machines and I have to attribute some of my laziness to that fact!!:D
As for the drafting it’s going great. I am so surprised that I remember all that math that I told my teachers “I will never use”:) I’m using a fantastic book that was printed in 1942. That is my favourite era, and the book is amazing!
I was actually going to sign up for some courses and then stumbled across the vintagesewing website and found all these fantastic books that are free and have soooo much more information in them than I would have learnt from any of the courses that I looked at.
I’ll try and post a couple of new things today, one of which is a Lydia top made from the stripey dress, I didn’t have enough fabric to go with my original idea, but the Lydia worked out well and I think the fabric suited it.
Happy sewing, I’ll keep a look out for your next creation.
