Thanks for your comments. yes we are still having a heatwave – at the moment we are heading for our third day in a row of over 43 C. It is unbearable, there are blackouts as the power grids are going into meltdown, the public transport can’t stand up to it, etc, At night there is only slight relief as it gets down to about 30 C. As long as there aren’t too many bushfires, I guess we’ll get through it…

Thank you so much for the compliments! I’m not sure i can upgrade myself from novice yet :) I still make those beginner mistakes, although I’m learning fast. Maybe once I make my first [successful] pair of pants! I agree with you about that law- we definitely need to do something about that. Have you seen the blog posts from staceysews? Check those out- she provides some good info on it. I think in the last one she said it was being amended somehow, but can’t remember the details.

Hi, thanks for you comment. I am safe as far as the fires go but I live about 30 minutes drive from one of the main areas. I am a teacher and some of the families at my school have lost their houses. Also, some friends still can’t contact their adult children who live in the area. Whole towns have been wiped out – it is devastating.
