Hi!! I’m sorry it took me so long to get back to you but I was out of the country for a few weeks. The measurements I used for my bag were: lenght: 13" , width: 20", and the dart was 2", so in total 4", all included in the 20". I found that size to be perfect, I can fir all kinds of stuff, including a laptop and books and all the basics, or anything at all. I hope it turns out great!

Hi there! Thank you for the comment on my white dress! I altered a pattern from a Japanese book pattern for this dress, the center detail is just a simple inverted box pleats. I found a how-to here about making the pleats. Hope that helps and happy sewing!
