concerning the dirndl
you are totally right, it is a great thing, unfortunatly the most “dirndl” todays is that ugly kitschy bavarian style thing
i always wanted to make a summerdirndl in a very simple countrysidestyle, like they did it 100 years ago with blue-printing fabrics and very simple
i found a page with pics, just with children but who caresMar 28, 2010, 10.24 AMby tschasta
maybe you have ideas for me, because you live in california and i guess you have a totally new input for it
thats why i like your dress so much, because it is a kind of dirndl anyhow, without apron, but the basics are there
a few aprons would be a nice detail to give it a new look every day

Just saw your mud-cloth dress and it’s perfect :) Wanted to drop a line as a neighbor in the bay. Holla~ I think you’ve motivated me to get going on my ancient Singer and get out my first project!
Cheers~

Hey thanks, the Thai Fisherman shorts were very easy, can be confusing when putting the pieces together, look up “Thai Fisherman Pants-instructions” by ClaireOKC on this site, she has a diagram which helped me when I was making my first pair. Hopefully I’ll get to see you modeling a pair in the mustard fields again! Pixe

Hi! Some of us thought it would be fun to get all Bay Area sewists together and plan something fun. I created a meet-up for us to put some events together. If you’re interested, join here: http://www.meetup.com/Bay-Area-Sewists/
