Hey Benedikta, I’m back. I finally finished the project I started last fall, so glad to be done with it. I think I’ll make a couple of bow ties before I start another massive project. Thanks for your support thus far. It feels good to post a creation again.

Hi Benedikta – thanks for commenting on my upcycled ASG contest entry! I actually didn’t design the sleeves – for the contest, we had to pick from a bunch of Simplicity patterns which they specified, so all 3 of my looks were mixed and matched from Simplicity #2938 and #2939. So I basically made the sleeves for that little cropped jacket from the material that I deconstructed from the men’s sleeves…I used extra fabric from the shirt itself to make the cuffs.

Hi Benedikta! Did you or someone else from Burda attend the ACS Gala last week? Will there be a blog post about how the bow ties and the success of the event? (I hope it was a success!). Thanks:)

Dear Benedikta, thank you for your encouragement regarding designs & patterns for plus sizes. There are, in fact, some that I’d like to share. But was wondering, what is the process by which a member-created pattern becomes included in the selection of patterns for the site (in the ‘patterns’ tab)? I’ve read mention in the past, of members who’d sent a hard-copy pattern (& instructions), along with sample garment, to the physical location of the burdastyle offices…which would work for me! (please advise re: address) Respectfully, sweet-saboo

Hi, thank you for your comment on the picture of my danielle. I thought that it might be a good idea to have the dress shown from all sides in only one picture. (And I didn’t want to go on working for university).

Hey Benedikta! thanks for the comment on my skirt! I really wanted the outcome to be better because it is such a lovely shaped pattern but I guess it was my first try with it. The pattern was difficult at places, I just found the sewing of the pleats to the skirt panels, and the sewing of the front and back panels (where the pleats join, difficult. I had never made pleat sections in this way before- maybe a ‘How to’ on it would help, although everyone else who made it seemed to get a really good result, oh well maybe it’s just me?!! bxx p.s I love the pics of u both at the Bambi awards!! wow, don’t tell me u both made those beautiful dresses???…

Not related to sewing – Benedikta, every time I see your name I smile. It is my baby sister’s name and have never seen any other with the same name. I love your style and creativity. MaryGabrielle

I just watched your video on how to line a jacket in anticipation of doing my first lining – thanks so much for taking the time to make that. I’m so excited for my coat to be done.

thanks Benedikta for your comment on my How To, I gotta say the original idea came from the Designer Anna Maria Horner, she did it but just for circles, for her quilted sheet project, i applied the idea to curvy hems and seams!

wait…dedicated to “girlfriends”? Ich war fast sicher dass ich das bin unter deiner Achsel im linken Bild. Wenigstens ist es mein Kinn und ganz bestimmt der fantastischste Mantel der Erde, der sich ja nur zufällig in meinem Besitz befindet?
