Thanx for commenting on my Michelle skirt, I chose the colours by using my basic knowledge of colour theory learnt at art college. If you wished to do the same you can image search ‘colour wheel’ and you should get an image with all the rainbow colours in a circle. Opposite colours give a contrast (this is what I used on my skirt – blue and orange – however the blue is slightly lilac but this still works), choose colours next to each other for a calm effect or three colours of equal distance apart on the wheel for a complementary effect. I find this a ‘safe’ way to put together material without worrying if it’ll look alright in the end :)

Thanks Anniestitches for your tip about gathers in your Twirly Skirt creation. It was very useful in completing my black petticoat.

Anniestitches, thanks for nice comments on my patchwork dress. I am so glad you understand the “little bit pregnant look” is not flatttering when you are not pregnant.
