Dear amarie! I cannot tell you enough how much I appreciate your comments! I thank you for the lovely one you left on my dotted dress. You really take in the whole picture and the details or the story behind it and manage to make every comment you leave a truly fascinating one. I am glad and honoured to know you here on the site. Thank you!

Thank you for the nice comment on my jacket! step by step we can go farther, so it might be good to have some big project, then you can call yourself intermediate soon, though your creations are already very compliacted and neat!

Your profile is amazing, I loved reading the stories you include with your creations. I think the story most people associate with their clothing is ‘I went shopping, I tried it on, it was nice’.. yawn!! And your hand stitching and applique is so lovely, all that appliqué and old school quilting is all about the story telling, right? You are right, my top does have a superhero quality about it, and with the drapy billow it’s almost cape like at the back! Thanks for your sweet comment, I hope to see more of your stuff.. and you know what? You could definitely lose the ‘novice’ tag. You have the skills to pay the bills honey.

Hi Amarie, saw your comment on my dress. I am in full favor a good old fashioned curtsy revival, I also think we should include the French double kiss as a greeting. I’m a big fan of that one.

Hi Amarie! Thank you so much for the comment on my “his to hers” set! You’re right….it was very challenging trying to deconstruct previously-worn clothing, and try to fit the pieces to a new pattern, but I’m happy with the result. :) In some cases I had to get really creative with the deconstructed fabric pieces I had, and had to sew two pieces together to fit one pattern piece (like the back of this dress)

Thanks for your comment on my skirt! It’s great to see your photos of creations from the Alabama Stitch book. I’ve been contemplating doing some projects from there, and I think I definitely will!

Český Krumlov! I was there once… too many people in the centre, so I would like to point out to you there are lots of such towns in the Czech Republic, and some of them aren’t so crowded. :-) And that almost every bigger town in our country has a fabric store. :-)

Thanks, Nayantara. La Cinque Terra in Italy by the Ligurian Sea. This is the view from Monterosso, the start of a long but worth it hike because hidden between the mountains are the remaining four towns of Vernazza, Corniglia, Manarola, Riamagorre.

Hi Amarie, thanks for your message! The sewing club is going ok, we missed a month because people (including myself) were busy but we hope to catch up again very soon, and a few more people have joined up.. I think once we find somewhere a bit more spacious than my poky little hobbit-lounge to do it in it will improve greatly! I love your new alabama chanin top that you posted, it’s so beautiful and feminine, totally suits you. Thanks to discovering your Alabama inspired creations on Burda I went and ordered the same book on amazon, currently attempting to reverse applique a bike onto a modified old sweatshirt, will post a pic when done. Keep in touch, and yes, I am in a way glad that autumn draws in and gives me more reason to hang out at home sewing! a x
