Retro Sundress w/ Pockets looks really lovely. Your problem with gaping neck……. well often when I finish a neck I use a strip of jersey (maybe from chopped up T-Shirt) pressed in half to use as ribbing. I stretch the ribbing but not the dress fabric as I stitch it on and then press it all flat. I will either leave it showing (which it a great stylish feature) or put a stay stitch on each shoulder seam and press it under so it acts as a facing. Is that confusing, I use ribbing to finish off necks and cuffs all the time it’s so much quicker and often neater!

That makes eminent sense! Oddly enough, the same solution occurred to me for the hem of circle skirts while in the bath, as I’d been wondering why lace seems so popular for hem tape. If it’s stretch lace, it would hold the fold with less distortion :D

Thanks so much for the message :D
