Hi! thanks for the comment on the african marie skirt. I only bought 1 yard of fabric for this project, which is why it is quite short! i did have to line it with some regular poly cotton though as its fairly see-through

Glad you like the Kettle Dyeing How To. In response to your question:
I’ve been anxious to try beets myself. I have a gut feeling it will work well and same for red cabbage. I assume any veggie/spice that stains your cutting board is probably a top dyeing contender. Cilantro just wasn’t strong enough. I also think cool colors may tend to get more muddled or washed out than brighter warm hues.
Experimenting with different fruits/veggies with a swatch or bit of yarn is worth a try. I killed two skeins of yarn during my dyeing sessions but got 8 amazing ones otherwise. Win some, lose some.
I wish you luck and let me know what works for you or doesn’t. And I’d love to see pictures!

Hello, Hikaru :)
Thanks for the comment on my room shoes! I forgot to add, but I used Drothy Balerina slippers as a base, but I didn’t make the instep that deep and I added the button detail to mine.

I was searching the internet for the pattern or just a How-To (I just thought "Hey, someone MUST have done this before), but I couldn’t find one, only the cover of this Simplicity pattern and then I was shocked :D

Hey Hikaru! I wanted to comment under your recreation of Diego Riviera’s wall! But I love all of your other creations. Do you have an art background? Enjoy the internship at Burdastyle! Helene
