Thanks for your comment! It’s good to hear that people (other than me) like the things I make – I’m never sure whether they look good or just ridiculous, haha. I really like your bags – might add that pattern to my list of projects…

Thanks heaps for the comments! Your Charlie bags look really lovely. They’ve made me think about trying out that pattern. Yes, the weather here in Australia is fantastically warm right now. Beach weather :) Though I’ve only seen snow twice in my life, so the idea of tons of snow outside sounds just as nice!

I forgot to tell you about my fabric. There is a great little studio 10 minutes from my house which carries some great fabrics that you can’t find in chain stroes. They are very small, so I try to support them as much as I can, although I can’t always pay full price for fabric. You would probably be suprised to know some of my fabrics come from Joann’s. They carry some really cute styles. I mix them with designer prints, solids, or fabric I find on clearance.( I like a good deal!!) I have some great friends who also will give me fabric that they come across, some is vintage which is really fun, but rare. So just keep your eyes open, and you’ll find some great combinations.

Thanks so much for the compliment! I make these bags for fun, some for orders, but each one is unique. I have a great time making them up, so for someone to enjoy them is a HUGE compliment. I’m happy to give instructions how I made them, just let me know if there is a certain bag you’d like to make, and I’ll look at my notes and translate it to something you might understand! (actually, I scribble things in a notebook, but I call them “my notes”)

Hi, Yeah, my course title was Clothing Design and Manufacture, so I did alot of design work, but also learnt the whole pattern cutting, construction side of things too. I have just graduated, so looking to follow this up in some sort of career. Thanks for the nice comments!

Thank you for the compliment! It is indeed warm in Salmon Arm, especially the summers, although it’s been slow getting to that particular season this year. Come visit some time! The Roots and Blues festival is coming up, if you like music. Perfect occasion!
As to patterns to try, this one, or rather just the top. (Mostly ‘cuz the skirt would be one drum mojor of a pain to print out) It doesn’t come as tile print layout, but each pattern piece can be printed on its own 8.5″ × 11″ if you arrange it in Adobe Reader.
That whole site has free patterns actually, it’s just a matter of finding the ones that are actually there.
I can also highly recommend messing with pre-made garments. That’s fun, and if you pick the piece up at the thrift store, won’t matter so much if you make a fatal mistake. (as opposed to the mistakes that are masterpieces in disguise.)
Whatever you choose, happy sewing adventures to you!

Thank you for the comment (=
cutting/sewing: I don’t remember g Maybe 4-5 hours? I had some trouble with the buttons – they broke several times. But all in all it was a easy model ^^
