Thanks for the comment on my pleated dress! In answer to your question, the pleats are only in the front. The back is plain with a zip up the center. Happy sewing!

I am a mathematician. I started with sewing clothing by hand for my barbie dolls. As a teenager, and later as an undergraduate, I made costumes. I really picked up sewing in graduate school. I started with dresses, but have sinced moved on to include pants and t-shirts. I sew almost exclusively from my own patterns.
