Wow thats such a good sale. I wish I had of been there. the cheapest material I got when I was there was 2$ a metre. I have made that into a cotton dress, thats almost finished, I just need to put on the pockets. On my profile page the picutre up the top with the fabric, well the one on the far left is the fabric I used. Not a very good picture of it though. Well Have a great day!

Hehe, thanks! Although it really doesn’t take much coaxing for him to pose for the camera, he can be such a show pony sometimes! And you are right about the collar, left alone it would have been a super-disco-no-no, I took quite a lot off and it is still on the large size. Plotting and planning the next shirt already.. a long sleeve plaid I think, kinda cowboy stylee.

Thank you for commenting on my blouse, I’m quite proud of it and was so excited to get my first finished garment up on this brilliant site to share with needle-and-thread heads from all around the world. Like you in NZ! (sigh, sunshine.. how I miss it so). Your Jakob’s are very inspiring, it’s my boyfriend’s birthday coming up soon, maybe I will try and make one for him too.

That’s risky (or at least it would be for me), but you can deal with it I think, resist the sewing machine ;)
Well, your fabrics are also very nice, you gotta tell me where do you buy them?

Yeah, I’m sometimes glad I can only sew at my parents home ;) What are you working? Do you work at home? That must be really hard, to work with a sewing machine in the same house ;)

No zip! Hooray. And she slipped it on with ease. She does look a little puff-pastry-ish, but it’s still cute and she was very excited about having had something made for her. I’m ready to make something else that flatters her a little better. You know, I always make the yoke longer so its a wider band, but in this case, it might have been nice a little more narrow. Maybe more delicate and less bulky. I will give a full description of my efforts and let you know when I do…but the key here is NO ZIPPER! Ever!

Stretch fabric scared me too! I’m getting the hang of it, though I did mess around with scraps for ages before that top got made. Thanks for the comment, I’m glad you like it.
