Hello Again! Check your messages. I left one for you re: patternmaking.

Hi There! Thanks so much for your comments about my wedding dress. How exciting that you’re preparing to make your own gown as well! I gave myself tons of time to work on my dress so I wouldn’t be rushed, and I made every cut and finished every step very carefully, so I was fortunate that things came together pretty well. But I don’t know how to create my own pattern from looking at a photo. However, there are a lot of people on the Burda site that do know how to do that! They have made some beautiful knock-offs from looking at photos of clothing by professional designers, and some of them have made some clothes using garment-designing computer software. Do you have a university or community college nearby that offers clothing construction or design classes? You may be able to take the class yourself or get in contact with someone who can draft the pattern so you can then make the dress. A student might give you a price break and sh/e could get class credit for it. You could even ask a local tailor for ideas or contacts. There are lots of hints and how-tos on the internet about drafting your own pattern or making something (or a close proximity) from a photo. As I run across things that might be helpful, I’ll write on your wall or leave you a message. How much time do you have left until the dress has to be made?

No I don’t, but if I were you I’d go to a thrift store, find a dress that looks like it or a garment that resembles the bodice or what you want the dress to look like, then just take it apart and there you go. You’ll have a pattern :D
What kind of dress where you thinking off?
