Hi,
Thanks for your kind note on my mittens. I teached myself how to knit on youtube.com entering the stitches name and watching the video. Ravelry.com has some nice and free knitting pattern. The dress you made is really nice. I love your painting. Let me know how your mitten project goes. Have a good day!
Take care.:0)

Hello, thanks so much for your very flattering comments on my hat. I took a felt hat body and trimmed it: I wrapped both types of ribbon around the crown then looped and secured the ends until I had a nice mass of loops to the one side. I had purchased some floral decor flowers (these are made differently than millinery flowers) and pulled them all apart and reconstructed them to create a few fuller/flatter roses, then I secured them into the center of the loops. The beads are adhered to the crown. And the silver buckle thing is a brooch.

Hey Lukastoka, I don’t know what to say… you are very nice, thank you so much for your kind words. What you’ve wrote in my wall is so inspiring, tender and push me up. It doesnt’ surprise at all because I had great experience in Egypt because people is just like you, so sweet and very kind. Your words meant a lot to me. The same way, I have to tell you, any time you come to the Netherlands, I’ll be happy to see you!!

Hi thanks for the compliment. I use both patterns and draping because patterns never seem to fit me right. If you invest in a dress form with your measurements i"m sure you will love it. Draping is more creatively liberating to me than patterns. And you have so much room to play!

Thanks for the comments. And yes, it was a fashion show that I put on for the girls at my church to show them that you can be modest and still stylish. It was a success.

Regarding the paper dress form, you are right! It is a very close model of your own body since you wrap the tape around yourself. I haven’t made any clothes yet, but that is something I would like to do soon. I imagine it would help very much with sizing and modifying to your own fit. Good luck if you decide to try it yourself, and let us know how it works for you!

Hi Lukastoka! Thank you for your kind words. I must tell you that my main interest lies in architecture, my profession, that is where I get my drawing skills. Sewing and making patterns is a fun hobby I use to relax without pushing myself too much, so it is mostly self taught – reading across the internet a lot and trying out. I have many failures too but I am light hearted since it is just for fun! I think you should just go for it, have some fun and never put yourself under pressure about it. And if sometimes something doesn’t work, don’t stop.
