Hey there!!
Thank you so much for the comments. I enjoyed reading them! :) So funny… Especially about a friend. Did you show her a jumpsuit of my sister?
Does she want one for her? ;))

Now I understand. I have had many projects like that myself! Those little gathers under the bust area of the Shari pattern I have wondered about. I thought about giving it a try and I might have to call on you as a consultant when I get to that project. Try to smile when you’re ripping out those stitches!

Okay Laurie1962, who is shari and why is she making you crazy?

Thanks for the comment on my tunic!I love the fabric as well… somehow, this sad little town I live in finally had some great prints arriving, I only went to the store for a zipper and wound up buying meters and meters of fabrics. I struggled a little with that to do to the dress, but I love the result.

hi there, thanks for the comment on my tulip skirt – its a great pattern to accessorise as it’s really basic so any modifications look great on it:) also, thanks for the tip on the acrobat reader – i have it on my work computer so i might try to print the pattern out when the boss isn’t looking!! :P
i see you make bags, i love making them – i think it’s because they involve lots of straight lines:) i’m making a clutch for my sister today – hopefully i’ll get to post it in a few hours!! Lyndi**

Hi Laurie,
I don’t know how far from Edmonton you are, but if you ever get a chance you should go to Marshall Discount Fabrics. I call it “the happiest place on Earth.” It is basically a big warehouse filled with bolts. It has a huge selection of specialty apparel fabrics, including Asian style fabrics. I like that it has rows and rows of knits.

Thanks for commenting my skirt!
After I had written an answer to your comment on my skirt page, it struck me that perhaps it would be better to write it on your wall, so you would be able to see it… :-) About the how-to: I would be glad to do a new, similar creation when I get the time, and be sure to take some photographs and add a little explanation, if you want to! If this sounds like an okay way to do it (not familiar with making how-to’s).

Laurie, thanks for your comments about my stuff – it’s nice to know I didn’t waste university for nothing!! I’m not a designer anymore : ( not through choice but because of the recession! The gloves I designed are a long story – I wanted them to be heated gloves so had to leave enough space in the fingers to add in a heated plate. This proved to be quite difficult (needless to say the battery to heat the gloves was massive), and as a cyclist myself I decided leather gloves with a heated element would probably be a bit too hot, even in snowy weather. I really want to start selling some stuff so think this site is ace, it gives plenty of help on stuff I haven’t done before. ps. I like your bags; they are really cute

thank you for your comment. you know a lot of people around my office were very skeptical and i totally understand. it’s a little weird! but you’d be shocked how nice it actually feels. i washed the cathair before i used it and so far my office mate who is allergic to cats has not broken out in hives just yet. ;-)

Hi thanks for your comment about my lingerie. Making the bras is a bit tricky at first but it gets a lot easier with practice, i noticed you’ve made some bikinis they look really good, i made my first bikini today and found it trickier than making a bra so i think you will be fine if you do give it a go.

Hey Laurie! Thank you for restoring my confidence in my plaid pencil skirt. Now that it is something I can consider wearing, I may make a jacket to go with or something! Your little girl clothes make me want to have a baby girl so bad; they are just too adorable! (I have the baby bug again, but my husband is not quite there yet ;) ) Best wishes, hoping you’re having a lovely day.
