I’m looking forward to seeing your’s then :)
By the way, I like your gothloli dress… I’m doing one for a friend at the moment and though I probably wouldn’t wear them myself, I find these dresses incredibly cute :)

Oh, thanks for the praise… again :)
A just-au-corps is basically a pirate coat ;) It’s the same kind of pattern.
It’s what men used to wear in the 17th/18th century, originally in France. You know, absolutism, Louis XIV, that kind of stuff ;)

Have you ever seen “Interview with the Vampire”? They’re wearing a lot of those in the beginning… Great research source (at least it was for me)

You’re working on a pirate coat? Well, good look to you, that’s quite a bit of work, especially drafting a pattern… I saw you added my Just-au-corps to your favourites (thanks for that!) and as a just-au-corps is practically the same thing, I can tell you, that thing was mean to me :P
Oh, be sure to look at http://www.yvettes.net/JuliensGreenConstruction.html and http://www.yvettes.net/PirateCoatConstruction.html
Helped me a great deal and they’re just wonderful to look at :)
All the best, Sarah

Thanks for the comment. Ballroom dancer’s as a rule don’t wear stockings with their costumes, but black would work.

Hi,
Thank you for you comment
To make the leaves of the leaf fairy dress, I cut out each leaf seperatly and then sewed each one onto a band underneath the top layer. There is two bands of calico on that dress with one layer of tulle to puff out the top two layers.
I hope that helped you in some way. :)

Thank you for your kind words. I enjoyed the whole project. It was the one time that working to a deadline wasn’t a problem. It really helped having Terry do the artwork. He kept it very basic; he wanted a primitive feel. Nehmah

here’s some of the earlier ones I made. They’re only made of sheer fabric. I’m starting to make ones now with layers of sheer and solid fabric :)

Also the “Poinsettia Skirt” and “Gypsy skirt” projects I did are variations.
