Hi there. Glad you liked the dress and took a moment to comment. As for the gather, easiest way is elastic. Under the bust is a sheath that was sewn in all the way around, leaving the ends open on one side of the dress, after sewing and trimming, the pre-measured elastic was inserted into the sheath and sewn together, and that was it. very easy to do.

Hi Buzzy Bee! When I saw your name I knew you had to be a Kiwi too :) No, you are right, no one over here would get the Buzzy Bee reference but that’s ok, it makes me feel unique and when you see something like that over here it’s kind of like a secret symbol to an exclusive club :) I am loving my new overlocker, thank you for asking, it’s great and I am so glad I bought it and I see you are a Bernina fan as well :) Perth does give Wellington a run for it’s money when it comes to windiness, we had a terrible last weekend where people lost their roofs and fences & trees we’re blown down everywhere, made me homesick, haha.

Hi Buzzy Bee (cool name btw!), I just saw your reply to my query about purchasing an overlocker. Thanks for your advice, unfortunately I don’t live in Auckland. I am actually originally from Wellington and currently I’m living in Perth for a bit. I did end up purchasing a Bernina model though, just today. They rep here was excellent and I am very happy with my purchase. I got the 1150MDA and I just cannot wait to get home to have a play. Thanks again xx Mel

No worries, I have done the same thing before. It’s a really easy thing to get wrong.
