Maybe I am making things waaaaay to difficult, or perhaps being pent up with my sewing machine for several hours straight has lowered my instruction following I.Q. to an all time low BUT….
I am trying to sew the waistband on the Marie Skirt (pattern # 9177) and I am lost!
I am onto step 6 and when the instructions say “pin the reinforced waistbands right sides facing onto the upper skirt edge” – Reinforced?
what am i doing wrong? how do i reinforce the waistbands?
Thanks so very much in advance for any help you can offer.
Scatterbrained,
ForMathilda

Hi there!
One member helped me to translate my question so you can understand me better.
I am using Pattern Maker to create patterns, but I don´t know how to make a technical drawing of the pattern. Does anyone know how to do this in Pattern Maker? I would like to upload some patterns, and I would like to have computer drawn technical drawings of the patterns. Any help would be appreciated.

Hey guys: I love the new look; well done and thank you for all the hard work you guys do. My life is enriched by this site.
One thing I miss about the old format:
“view all” I miss being able to click “view all” and having all the photos uploaded for a project load and appear on one page. Any chance we could get a “view all” button in this format? It would be nice not to have to click back and load each photo individually. Thanks, love love love.

hey guys,
while i love the new site, i’m sorry to say that some of my how-tos didn’t quite make the cross-over.
i think i had aboout for, and only one has joined me on this side; how to plait/braid while how to make a no-sew headband, how to make an easy laptop sleeve and how to make a glamourous personalised scrapbook have all run away and hidden from me…
so i was just wondering if you knew where they were?
thank you keep up the good work :)

sorry! just discovered them, they were in my projects section, i guess that’s because they were related how-tos! thanks anywy and never mind. i should have realised when i had more creations than i did before :)

Hey Burdastyle Team, I have tried to join that Sewing Club thing in many ways, but i never seem to get any response from you guys.
first I contacted the German lady, whose contact was shared on the German Burda website, which also introduced the sewing clubs. I would really LOVE to become a memeber, since i am already offering sewing classes in Heidelberg, Germany and will start a new and bigger and weekly sewing programme here, I think it would be cool to be part of the Burdastyle clubs.
Can anyone help me??
Thank you so much!
Julia

FAO ALISON.
Next instalment!
Whilst uploading ’Clare’s Kasia’ I managed to delete ‘Pink jacket’, so on my profile page I now have two comments about the jacket attached to the skirt! I then re-uploaded the jacket, and they both came up in ‘Just uploaded’ on the home page. They then moved down the list until they disappeared. Neither of them have shown up on the creations page, but the items that came after them have. What am I doing wrong?

FAO ALISON.
Hi Alison, thanks for trying to solve my creations page problem. I have tried uploading using both methods, to no avail. The only thing I don’t understand is that when I press ‘save’ I get a message in red telling me there is a problem, and that the name already exists. It’s true that there are various ‘pink jacket’ creations, but does this mean I have to call it something else, or just ignore the message? I have only uploaded one other creation, and had no problem at all. I’m now going to try with a different creation, and see what happens. Hope you can sort this out. Thanks, Margaret.

Hello Gang,
I left a follow up message for Benedikta regarding obtaining some sliders for the American Cancer Society Bow Tie fund raiser. But I think she might be in Europe having a wonderful time???
So, if any of you talk with her, could you ask her the status of my sliders???
And yes, I’ve already ordered sliders using the link given in Nikkishell’s sewalong, but that didn’t give me what I needed.
Thank you!

I would like to make the Francesca 6024 dress in a Burda size 60 (woman’s plus size). How much yardage would I need for that size? I need to know if I have enough fabric.
Thank you!

I see you guys are now charging for a lot of you patterns.
I think that in doing so you pretty much ruined the idea behind “open source” sewing. it’s not really open source anymore.
sorry but it’s kinda true.
I love this site, the patterns are great and the idea behind it is wonderful, but what I say is still true.

thank you so very much for taking the time to view my profile and your love for Leon(the professional) as well. It is I who love YOUR creations- photos are brilliant! This site is truly an inspiring forum and a breath of fresh air (which is hard to come by in Brooklyn…fresh air, that is) for people like me who are always looking to improve in every way I possibly can.
Thanks BurdaStyle!
