Notes on leather (or imitation leather): Use a fine needle and fine sewing thread to baste and stitch leather. Avoid unpicking seams since the ¬holes left by the needle may be permanent. Use a medium stitch length ¬since stitches which are too short may cause the leather to tear. Should your sew¬ing machine not transport the leather properly, use a Teflon-coated presser foot or stitch over a piece of tissue paper, which will be torn away after stitching. Press leather from the wrong side under a dry pressing cloth. Use moderate heat and no steam. Test-iron a scrap of leather first.
Soft leather or fine imitation leather.
Kid suede. To make this style in size 38, you will need 5 leather skins with a total of about 25 sq. ft. (1 sq. ft. = 30 × 30 cm). Ask your leather dealer about the amount required for ¬larger sizes since leather skins can vary great¬ly. We recommend you
