these are fantastic. It is nice to see pants that are not a western style. These pants will inspire me to think about pants in a more interesting and creative way. Thank you burda.

I really have to ask, what is the actual measurement on these? It says one size, but I’ve seen these one size fits all fully made for sale on etsy before and the measurements listed would not work right on a plus sized person with say 52 inch hips.

These are too short :( I also think this pattern is kind of ridiculous BUT that’s a style choice. I’m making them for a friend that requested them. Also, note… if you are accustomed to sewing and making pants you need to know that you do NOT cut out the pieces on the reverse. As in don’t fold the fabric and then cut them OR don’t cut with the pattern piece laying one way and then flip. You cut out the pieces in the same direction… as strange as it seams. The front/back piece ends up being one front piece and one back piece. You don’t do a mirrored cut or you’ll waist fabric!

Beware, the novice rating on the pants is not at all 100% true, it will take some sewing knowledge to actually work out small kinks in the pattern. They are also not traditional Thai Fisherman pants, but a rework that is made as you see in the picture.

Shorter and with less waist and leg than normally usable, I would have to say that it is possible, as users below have edited the pattern to work and fit comfortably, but this requires some editing, something a novice might not be capable of.
