Description

Plus size coat sewing pattern available for download. Available in various sizes.

This combination of coat and quilted waist coat is a good companion for cold days. The two are brought together by the faux fur collar. The coat itself follows through on the layered look, with a horizontal pleat at hip level hinting at a jacket. Below this pleat, the coat is slightly flared to give you lots of room for walking fast in the cold!

Recommended Materials

Coat fabrics of wool or blends. Fabrics with a ­textured surface for the waistcoat.

Amount of Fabrics

Wool velours,
width: 150 cm (59 ins)
length: 2.20 – 2.20 – 2.50 – 2.70 – 2.70 m
(2 1/2 – 2 1/2 – 2 3/4 – 3 – 3 yds).

Cloqué,
width: 95 cm (371/2 ins)
length: 1.50 – 1.50 – 1.50 – 1.55 – 1.55 m (1 3/4 yds).

Fake fur,
eidth: 140 cm (55 ins)
length: 0.15 m (1/4 yd) for all sizes.

Lining,
width: 140 cm (55 ins)
length: 2.60 – 2.60 – 2.60 – 3.00 – 3.00 m
(2 7/8 – 2 7/8 – 2 7/8 – 3 3/8 – 3 3/8 yds).

Interfacing and Vilene Bias Tape/stay tape.

A piece of batting.

1 separating zip, 55 cm (22 ins) long for sizes 44, 46 and 60 cm (24 ins) long for sizes 48 to 52 (will need to be shortened to 56 – 57 – 58 cm /22 – 221/2 – 23 ins.

5 hooks and eyes.
