Description

Dress sewing pattern available for download, available in various sizes.

This retro dress features a dropped waist and a cool side button placket. This dress is reminiscent of a Mondrian painting that includes bright color blocking. The pleated skirt detail and belted waist make this dress extra special, and would also make a perfect day dress to wear.

Recommended Materials

Dress fabrics with some body.

Shot Taffeta,
width: 140 cm (55 ins)

yellow: 1.00 m (1 1/8 yds) for all sizes,
red: 0.75 – 1.10 – 1.10 – 1.10 – 1.10 m
(7/8 – 1 1/4 – 1 1/4 – 1 1/4 – 1 1/4 yds)
cream: 0.35 m (1/2 yd)
blue: 0.20 m (1/4 yd)

-Vilene/Pellon G 785.
-7 large sew-on snap fasteners.
-A small piece of lining fabric to cover the snap fasteners.
-7 large buttons.
-1 fabric-covered belt buckle (without prong), bar width 5 cm (2 ins).
-Magic chalk.
