If you’re not the dress type this satin top with a pair of matching silk trousers will still make you one beautiful bride! What is especially seductive about the top is the wide, ornate lace sleeves on top. But you can easily transform this top into a dress as well, just lengthen the hemline for an equally outstanding dress.

I’ve just gone to print this document out – it’s 57 pages, which seems quite a lot for a top, and I’m worried about the scaling. For example, the first piece, 21, centre front, runs along the short edge of 8 A4 pages. Given that A4 pages are typically 210mm or 21cm wide, this means it runs is almost 168 cms long, way too long for a top (to put in context, I’m only 165 cms tall!) It especially seems too long as this section only runs from above the bust to the bottom of the garment – about 1/3 of the way down the thigh on the photo. Pieces 22-24 also seem to be almost 145cms looking at the placement. Also it will not fit on the fabric as the cutting instructions show the piece on Duchesse 105cm wide. On top of this, there are pieces 29 and 30 included in the print out, but not included in the instructions. Can someone confirm that the file is definitely correct?

Hello avjames,
We apologize for any confusion. This top shares a pattern with a gown variation (#142 02/2013). Tough the gown #142 instructions are unavailable on our site it is photographed with the Petal Dress here: http://www.burdastyle.com/pattern_store/patterns/petal-dress-plus-size-022013/. We did not feel our members would appreciate this style gown, as the shoulder band is unflattering and would prohibit mobility.
The patterns by burda style magazine are often sent to us with multiple variations per pattern sheet (variation #s noted in fine-print in the lower left corner of page 1). Please cut out the pattern pieces listed within your instructions and disregard any additional pieces. The hemline for this pattern will be marked “Mod. 141”. Please disregard any pattern lines marked “Mod. 142”.
We apologize for the inconvenience.
Let me know if I can answer any more questions.
