The wide leg is really, really, really wide. The picture is misleading because she is bending over.

The fit was good for me. Made a few pair shorts and two pair of pants. The legs were too wide for my taste, so I made adjustment. The fly instructions are terrible, so I referenced another pattern. There is a good video on Threads by Sandra Betzina with technique that has never failed me. http://www.threadsmagazine.com/item/3831/video-an-easy-flat-fly-front-zipper

These are the best pants I’ve ever had! Fit me perfectly! I had to reduce the width a bit due to me being too tiny for size 36, but it looks awesome! I used linen blend. Skipped flap pockets and added my own in stead. This is my favorite pattern so far! The instructions were a bit poor, keeping in mind, that I’ve never made adult pant before, but it all worked out!
