Women’s jacket sewing pattern available for download. Available in various sizes.

This is a lovely straight-cut velvet jacket that features striking edging on the hem and a drawstring waist casing.

Recommended Materials

Soft jacket fab­rics with some body. The ruched edge of the orginal fabric was used for the hem edge of this jacket style. Alternatively, you can stitch on frills of velvet backed with organza.

Amount of Fabrics

Velvet cloqué with ruched fabric edge,
width: 90 cm (36 ins), cut widthwise
length: 1.90 – 2.00 – 2.05 – 2.10 – 2.15 m
(2 1/8 – 2 1/4 – 2 3/8 – 2 3/8 – 2 1/2 yds)

Petersham ribbon, 2 cm (3/4 in) wide and 2.70 – 2.75 – 2.80 – 2.90 – 2.95 m (3 – 3 1/8 – 3 1/8 – 3 1/4 – 3 3/8 yds) long.

Cord, approx. 5 mm (3/16 in) thick and 1.35 – 1.40 – 1.45 – 1.50 – 1.55 m (1 5/8 – 1 5/8 – 1 3/4 – 1 3/4 – 1 3/4 yds) long.

2 decorative ends for cords.
