Description

Women’s dirndl with apron sewing pattern available for download. Available in various sizes and is produced by BurdaStyle Magazine.

This is a traditional dirndl with a romantic bodice of velvet and lace, a wide pleated skirt and colorful apron.

This pattern is from the The Hills are Alive collection.

Recommended Materials

Velvet for the bodice. Softly draping wools or blends for the skirt. Silk fabrics with some body for the apron.

Amount of Fabrics

Dress: Cotton velvet,
width: 150 cm (59 in), for the bodice
length: 0.60 m (3/4 yd) for all sizes.

Flannel,
width: 150 cm (59 in), for the skirt
length: 2.00 m (2 1/4 yds).

Batiste,
width: 140 cm (55 in), as lining for bodice
length: 0.70 m (7/8 yd).

Interfacing.

3 different trims, 1 cm, 1.5 cm, 2 cm (3/8 in, 5/8 in, 3/4 in) wide: 2.50 – 2.50 – 2.60 – 2.60 – 2.60 m (2 3/4 – 2 3/4 – 2 7/8 – 2 7/8 – 2 7/8 yds) each.

Lace trim with one scalloped edge, 7 cm (2 3/4 ins) wide: 2.00 – 2.00 – 2.00 – 2.30 – 2.30 m (2 1/4 – 2 1/4 – 2 1/4 – 2 5/8 – 2 5/8 yds).

1 invisible zip, 40 cm (16 ins) long.

Apron: Doupion silk,
width: 135 cm (53 in)
length: 1.20 m (1 3/8 yds). ­

Interfacing.

Pompom trim, 1.5 cm (5/8 in) wide: 1.10 m (1 1/4 yds).

Petersham ribbon, 7 mm (1/4 in) ­wide: 1.10 m (1 1/4 yds).

Rickrack, 7 mm (1/4 in) wide: 1.10 m (1 1/4 yds).

13 mirror sequins.
