This is a simple blouse which has huge impact. Several narrow bands in contrasting black look as if they are seams. This creates a sense of proportion and is figure-flattering. Small gussets at the hem let the blouse swirl around wider hips.

Note: Narrow black strips of fabric have been stitched along the darts and seams of the white blouse. These strips are cut from fabric. The edges of the strips are pressed under and then the strips are stitched to the blouse. Instead of making fabric strips, you can use purchased bands (e.g. soft petersham ribbon).
