Hello JF, I very much agree with the comments you posted on Merryk's history blog about the need for more information on developing one's own designs/patterns. I am still struggling with this after about five months hard work now, and I'm beginning to get a handle on flat pattern manipulation, but still have no good idea about draping. I bought one book, but it's not wildly helpful - I suspect I may have to take a class to learn this technique properly. There aren't many resources online about the process - there's quite a bit more about sewing than there is about patternmaking and designing.
