I'm a twentysomething who wants to break away from shopping malls, as I no longer find them as much fun as I did before I learned what Globalization was. Now, I like to spend my spare time creating anything from paintings to slippers to embroideries of David Bowie (photos of things soon to come).

oh yeah--one more tip. after I had the pockets in and everything, i stitched through both the pocket material and the actual skirt material together very close to the edge of the pocket, just to keep it from looking puffy. my mom's suggestion, I think it helped. RB
Thanks for the comment on my skirt! I hadn't looked at that creation in a while, so I didn't see that you'd asked a question!
I used a how-to located on this site to learn how to put the pockets on. one thing i'd suggest not doing is sewing the pocket pieces together before sewing them to the skirt--I did that with a pair of pants I made for my boyfriend and spent a lot of time trying to fit the seam allowances on to the pants to sew just the corners on, blah blah, in the end it didn't look good. but if you find the how-to, just follow the instructions, they're great!
