You don't need a hat block all the time, here are some veddy, veddy, cute patterns/links for patterns/instructions (free :) my favorite) that don't require any advanced tecniques or blocking: http://www.dailycandy.com/new_york/article/28693/Making+Headway and fmfcorp.com/familyspot/haircover.html, the latter has links for all types of hats, and a great pattern design software freebee called wild things by wild ginger.     Hi there Antoinette, I just visited your blog. You have some fantastic upcycling ideas. I can't wait to try some.
