ALE.B's WALL (10)
Oh that is exciting and I am quite honoured and a bit surprised that you are reading my blog. I always thought that only my few friends do that and then call me to tell me their opinion... I can't wait for the warm weather! I will try your almost Pollini dress in the next time.
hey ale b. I love your creations and I loved your featured member answers. On your photos I saw what you meant with the thread tracing. So interesting - I've never done that and didn't knew this technique, but it does look beautiful.
hi m! thanks for the nice comment on my wall. I haven’t really tried to alter patterns with vector software, the first reason is that I've just started working with patterns, and the second is that you can measure straight lines but I'm not quite sure about curved lines, for example when you need to match the length of lines that have different curves (so that you can’t just put one on top of the other to check if they match), you can do it on paper with a measuring tape, but how do you measure it on illustrator, or any other vector drawing software? but I might be wrong. please let me know if you find a way
hey ale.b! checked out your website, very cool to see the artwork that you've done. lots of nice studies of hands and figures in there. i'm def. more of a realist too, should put some of my art up here… definitely more experienced with that than i am with sewing. Question: Since you work with vector software, did you ever try altering patterns that way… i.e. scanning a pre-existing pattern in (hopefully with a large format scanner :–/ ), and then altering it digitally, then replotting? reason i ask is … once i get my sewbie sewing bearings i'm planning on doing so with patterns from this site and some others that i'll need to scan. cheers and great art and creations! your work is truly an inspiration! ))m((
ale.b, che brava!! I got your pattern PDF, looking forward to try it. grazie mille!!
Thanks for posting your dress pattern! I'm going to have a go at grading it! Your's looks mighty fine... Tauken
Thank you for posting the pattern! Because it will take some time before I get to making it, I'm sure I'll find a way for it to work for me, no matter how. It will have to! :-)
Thank you for posting a gorgeous dress pattern. I have a spring green linen that would do wonderfully with this. Thanks for all your work.
Thanks Olar!, Yoshimi just told me the same thing a couple of days ago, I have seen the blog, and I've ordered something like 15 books already!!! can't wait to receive them
